Website Help

Teams can list information about player and his/her fun facts, parent volunteer duties, coach contact information, team get-togethers, tournaments, or team pictures. Other features that can be utilized:

  • Photos
    • Photos have to be uploaded to the main Photos page on the top horizontal menu first. Be sure to label your team in the Album name. Then add a Photo Gallery to your team's page by "grabbing" this album from the Photos page.
  • Contact Form
    • A great form to get either contact information from each family, to get consensus on team decisions, and more. A custom form can be made with text fields, drop down menus (one required answer) or check boxes (multiple answers) all with Pointstreak’s contact form tool.
  • Other Page Features
    • Content Block (general text information)
    • Table (excel table for figures or text)
    • Content Source (if you know html)
    • Flash (if want to add a flash feature)
    • Page Divider (too separate various info listed on page)
    • Widgets (often used in conjunction with Content Source)

This is a user-friendly platform and we encourage all teams to use their page to communicate and share information with their players and parents. Sarah Nelson will happily give one-on-one instruction on how to use these features and troubleshoot.

In addition we want to make our website more interactive. We have the following features that teams can utilize and will be posted either on the main page or as a frequent news article

  1. NCYH Spirit Page – Send pictures of your team out in the community, on tournaments, or in NCYH spirit gear. We also want to have a rotating picture gallery on the Junior Eagles main page as well, so send those pictures in!
  2. Team Fundraisers – Post your team’s fundraiser or look to see what other teams are doing. We will post these as news articles occasionally to promote to the entire NCYH association as well as on the NoCo Ice Center home page.
  3. NCYH Theater – recommend a hockey related video for the association to watch
  4. Business Directory – list your place of business for all association members to frequent. And be sure to check out the current listings and support when you are able.

And last but not least, let the NCYH families know of our 25th Anniversary Celebration. Vote in the weekly polls which start in early September and be on the lookout for a monthly email that shares “Do You Remember When... 1986.”

Accessing Team's Google Calendar

For those teams that are utilizing the Google Calendar feature. Here are the steps for families to follow to import your team's schedule into their iCal program or Outlook program. Note they will need the gmail address and password to be able to access the calendar.

iCAL

  1. Open Apple iCal, go to Preferences and then the Accounts tab.
  2. Click on the + button to add an account.
  3. In the box that pops up, enter a description for the account and your Google Account username and password.
  4. Under Server Options, add the following URL:

https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/YOUREMAIL@DOMAIN.COM/user

  1. Replace 'YOUREMAIL@DOMAIN.COM' with the email address that you use to log in to Calendar. Make sure to include the '@domain.com' portion (which is @gmail.com for Gmail users) in this section.
  2. DO NOT substitute your username for 'user' at the end of the URL.
  3. Leave the Use Kerberos v5 for authentication option unchecked.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Under the Delegation tab, select the calendars you'd like to add to iCal by checking the boxes next to them. You may need to hit refresh to get the latest list of calendars.
  6. Add your email address to your Address Book card by selecting Add Email. You'll be prompted to add your email address only if your address is not already in your Address Book.

OUTLOOK

  1. Google Help page -- http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?answer=89955
  2. Make sure you're using a supported operating system and Outlook version.
  3. Download Google Calendar Sync (version 0.9.4.0) at http://dl.google.com/dl/googlecalendarsync/googlecalendarsync_installer.exe
  4. Once a dialog box appears, click Save File. The downloaded file should open automatically. If it doesn't, manually open it from your browser's download window.
  5. Click OK to confirm that you're aware this is an executable file.
  6. Read through the Google Calendar Sync Terms of Service, and click I Agree.
  7. Follow through the Installation Options and click Install to finish the set-up process.
  8. Under Sync Options on the Google Help page, make sure you select 1-way Google Calendar to Microsoft Outlook Calendar

Each team should have a parent maintain their team's page on the NCYH website. This page can hold roster names from Pointstreak, practice schedules from NCYH, game schedule from Pointstreak, and other fun information decided upon by the team. NCYH encourages each team to establish a page as a place to get all information regarding their season.

To Gain Access

Contact Sarah Nelson to receive your username and password to login to the Pointstreak website platform. This will give you access to your team's page. Usernames will always be your email address, but if you forget your password at any time email Sarah to have it reset.
