ABOUT MSGHL/GIRLS TEAMS

The NCYH Junior Eagles offer GIRLS hockey. The program is relatively young and growing. Our girl's teams participate in the Mountain States Girls Hockey League (MSGHL). Our goal at NCYH is to offer at least 2 teams, one for the older more experienced girls and a team for younger girls that are looking to learn the game and do not wish to play on boys teams. We do ask that if your daughter is interested in playing hockey she have a basic grasp of skating. If your daughter is not comfortable on skates but loves hockey and wants to play NCYH strongly urges families to enroll their daughters in learn to skate.

Playing on one of our girls teams you can expect to get quality coaching. The girls teams typically practice twice a week and may have a game or two on the weekends. The league is constantly changing as well so you can expect to travel as far as Santa Fe, New Mexico for league games. We will not have a solid idea of how many league games will played until all the associations declare what teams they are fielding in August. Along with playing league games families can expect to travel to 1-2 tournaments in-state and possibly an out of state tournament.
